Abstract: What is geo-modernity? The rise of modern science and a series of developments in new technologies and scientific disciplines like geology and agricultural science led to a significant global shift in state power, boundary making, and territoriality by the end of the nineteenth century. Birth of the Geopolitical Age uses the methodology of global history and insights from network science to narrate how the unique dynamics during a turbulent transitional period from empire to nation-state ushered China and the world into geo-modernity.

什么是“地缘现代性”？从十九世纪起科学与技术的发展产生了疆域与空间思想的演变和国际化。《地缘政治时代的起源》利用全球史与网路科学的视角解释世界国家从帝国向民族国家转型的过程中获取了独特动力。
